Louisville, KY- The Louisville Sports Commission (LSC) will host 115 colleges and universities from 24 states in the 11th Annual Greater Louisville Classic (GLC), which for the first time in the 11 year history should be the largest college meet contested in the United States in 2012.

The Southern Athletic Association has announced the men's and women's cross country Runners of the Week for events raced through September 9. Centre earned both the recipients with Ashley El Rady (pictured) claiming the women's honor and John Burke earning the men's nod for the Colonels.
The Greyhounds competed in today's Ben Davis Invitational. Due to very heavy rains the evening before, the course had to be altered and was about 300 meters long and very wet and muddy. Carmel ran a controlled race to win with 18 points.
The Paducah, Ky. , native took sixth place at the Memphis Brooks Twilight Classic, after fighting through a weather delay and grueling ground conditions.

Carmel competed in today's Carmel Classic Distance Medley at the Northview Church Course. The unique distance medley concept has in the Varsity race concurrent 3 K-4 K-5 K distances with teams allowed up to 4 runners at each distance with two scoring in each race and the tiebreaker being the third runner at the 5 K race. Carmel won with 20 points followed by North Central (40), Zionsville (42), Franklin Central (62) Warren Central (89), West Lafayette (96), Center Grove (98), Chesterton (112), Southport (146), Mt. Vernon (181), Lafayette Harrison (188) and Waldron (216).

The Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations has officially named the 2012 Central American and Carribean Junior Championship Team that will represent the country in San Salvador, El Salvador from June 27th to July 2nd, 2012.
The Florida men's track & field team captured the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at Drake University. The men scored 50 points to edge LSU (48 points) and Texas A&M (40 points) for the men's team title. This is the first NCAA Outdoor Championship in Florida athletics history and the third NCAA Championship for the Florida Gators this year (men's indoor track & field & women's tennis). NEW YORK CITY (May 16, 2012)—Josh Lampron and Ben Malone, who own the two fastest 1500-meter times in the nation so far this season, are among 16 top high school athletes added to the fields for the adidas Dream 100 and adidas Dream Mile at the adidas Grand Prix on June 9, organizers have announced.
Calvary Christian High School seniors, Logan Thiel and Jessica Maggio, signed letters of intent to run track for Arkansas State University.

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men’s track & field team finished as the runner-up, while the women claimed third place at the 2012 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships hosted by Geneva on Saturday.
Senior Taylor Hockman (Martinsburg, W. Va./Hedgesville) also defended his championships in both the triple jump (13.62m) and long jump (6.72m) for the second consecutive year and was selected as the PAC Field MVP.
